This daub is known as Golden Glow. It does not glow and it’s not golden. This daub and golden glow (in general) is a type of daub made to emulate tobacco stains. Daub is a substance you use to make a smudge on the back of a card to mark it so that you can differentiate it from other cards. Typically daub is used during a game to mark the cards in real time.

Another way to use it is to mark cards before the game. This is a far more sophisticated approach because most people think that daub is used during the game. Clasicaly daub comes in a tin (just like this one does). The tin is pinned to an item of clothing and the cheater “loads up” occasionally and marks the cards as they come to his hand. Daub can also be placed so it is on the bottom of a shoe right al the base of the heel so that when you walk it is protected. All the cheater needs to do is cross his leg as is natural to place a hand on his shoe. Little do the opponents know but at the same time, he is loading the daub onto his index finger.

Daub can also be in the hair, rubbed onto clothing, and even used in the open, such as grease on a car mechanic’s overalls. The places daub can be hidden are almost limitless. Think of a woman cheat who uses her makeup as a daub. This is about as in the open and completely natural as you can get. The issue with daub is two-fold. It needs to be easy to place on the finger, and easy to get on the card but, at the same time, it needs to stay on the card during the game. This is where a woman’s makeup fails as it is easy to get on but just as easy to wipe off.
